Welcome to VivaScoop, your monthly rundown on everything Vivacity Technologies.
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful, and happy holiday season. Its always sad to see the Christmas period come and go, but now with New Years resolutions locked and loaded, 2025 is shaping up to be a great year.
We managed to (mostly) shut the offices for the last few weeks, so it's great to come back a little refreshed and ready to go. And we already have lots happening, including being live with VivaCitadel in Kelowna, as well as some exciting projects we're starting to wrap up.
To learn more about our activities over the last month, herewith VivaScoop December.
Launching VivaCitadel with the City of Kelowna
The product team here at Vivacity has been hard at work on developing and perfecting VivaCitadel for almost a year with the City of Kelowna. At the beginning of December, the VivaTeam was thrilled to finally see the public launch of our data and digital records management platform, VivaCitadel, with the City of Kelowna! The launch has been smooth, with minor support issues being rapidly resolved, and a positive reception from both city clerks and Kelowna realtors.
This launch is a massive milestone for the team as it marks the first instance of VivaCitadel live in production. Through our limited user testing phase and now broad launch, VivaCitadel is actively being used to simplify the submission and delivery of Property Information Requests from the public. We are excited to see the impact our platform will bring to the City of Kelowna and its citizens over the coming months.

Selecting a Managed Service Provider with the City of Castlegar
Over the last 5 months, Vivacity has been engaged with the City of Castlegar in a two-part project: an IT assessment, and going to market with a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a new IT managed service provider (MSP). We completed our assessment in early October with the IT assessment helping Castlegar clearly understand their current IT and future direction. This helped narrow down the criteria for Castlegar to go to RFP for a new MSP and virtual Chief Information Officer.
Since then, Vivacity has helped Castlegar develop and bring their RFP to market, helping answer questions from proponents and supporting the evaluation process. The City of Castlegar is now well on their way to selecting a new service provider, and the new year will see us aiding them in contract development and negotiation to onboard their new provider. It has been a fantastic experience working with their team through this process!
The Value of Co-op Students at Vivacity
As Vivacity marks the completion of our third co-op position through Thompson Rivers University, we’ve been reflecting on the value co-op students bring to our company. It’s easy to think about the benefits that a co-op brings to students, allowing them the opportunity to gain real world experience and grow their skills while undergoing their studies, and making new contacts. But the student also has the opportunity to create a large impact on the company.
Vivacity loves supporting co-op students because students bring fresh new perspectives and the most up to date knowledge from their studies to the team, and provide us with opportunities to challenge and adjust our processes in light of a better way. Tapping into the best and brightest minds of tomorrow helps us make a better organization today. And you never know, those bright minds of today might be our long-term team members of tomorrow.
Ringing in the New Year
In preparation for the holiday season, Vivacity hosted our Annual Christmas Party, bringing together our team and our families to celebrate the year we have had, the things we have achieved together, and the people who make Vivacity the company it is today.
We had a fantastic evening of tacos, trivia, and some very competitive beer pong, rounded off with our annual white elephant gift exchange. This was the perfect opportunity to come together and enjoy each other’s company before heading off for the holidays.
From our family to yours, we hope you had a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to seeing you all in 2025!
