Welcome to Viva Scoop, your monthly round up of everything Vivacity Technologies.
Firstly, happy belated Canada Day! I hope you all enjoyed the celebrations and long weekend as much as we did. Honestly, there's nothing quite like getting away for a few days and enjoying the great Canadian outdoors. Sprinkle in some fireworks, a few cold ones and you've got yourself a true July 1st celebration.
As for Vivacity, we’ve had a great month to round off the quarter, so herewith our Viva Scoop update for June. Enjoy!
Kelson Group Digital Infrastructure Project
Vivacity is delighted to announce the start of a new and innovative digital infrastructure project with the Kelson Group. The Kelson Group is one of Western Canada’s largest owners and managers of residential apartments and recently announced the new Kelson City Gardens project in downtown Kamloops. The Kelson City Gardens boasts 525 residential units and will completely alter the downtown core, with two 20+ story towers being built.
Vivacity has been selected to support the Kelson City Gardens project as a trusted technology partner. Our goal is to help guide the digital infrastructure footprint for the project and ultimately future-proof the development for Smart Building technologies today and into the future.
We’re delighted to be working with the Kelson Group team, and this is a major step for Vivacity's digital infrastructure journey as well.
Big Bear Child and Youth Advocacy Centre
Recently we were introduced to the Big Bear Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (BBCYA), which is an amazing organization setup by Tara Ettinger and her team to coordinate the response in child maltreatment investigations. BBCYAC creates one safe location where all the professionals in a maltreatment investigation (Police, Child Protection Offices, Hospital & Emergency Services, Court) come to the child and not the other way around. The organization hasn’t been in operations that long, but sees roughly 200 cases pass through its doors each year.
During our recent introductions, it became apparent that BBCYAC could use some support with their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) environment. As such, Vivacity is stepping in with an IT Assessment to determine any weaknesses in their ICT environment that may be a drag on the organizations current and future operations.
It's a shame organizations like BBCYAC have to exist, but given the world we live in I'm glad they do.
Vivacity's Public Key Infrastructure Goes Live
AND WE’RE LIVE! 😱😀 After months of hard work, Stefano and the team have our Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution for Redline Communications stood up and operational. We’re delighted to say that we’ve delivered this solution on time and to the clients specifications.
This is a huge achievement for the Vivacity team, and paves the way for future growth opportunities in the PKI space. Paired with our recently announced IRAP funding to support R&D in this field, we’re in a great position for growth.
What caught my eye this month --> Raison d’être
Raison d’être, or more commonly known as purpose for a company, is the guiding star that aligns an organization to its future state or goals. Purpose, along with Core Values and a Mission (likely a 5-10 year goal), provide a Vision for an organization.
This recent article explores the value of purpose for an organization and specifically highlights that purpose really only makes a difference in organizations when it changes the way people operate. As I write this, Vivacity Technologies is working on its purpose and therefore the article adds some timely and much needed guidance on a fairly challenging exercise.
Help!!
Please spread the word on what we do and who we are. It's simple, but massively beneficial for Vivacity.
Thank you so much for tuning in and don't hesitate to reach out to the Viva team with any questions.
