Wow, it got hot! With the summer in full swing, we experienced some stifling temperatures in Kamloops, and apparently the world followed suit. This brought wildfire season into full effect, with Jasper, BC being hit particularly hard. I've mentioned this before, but technology will play a critical role in both adjusting to the new world, and helping to mitigate against the changing environment. This is being led by some significant investment in this space, both locally and globally, which is great to see.
Meanwhile, the VivaTeam have continued to drive projects forward and take on new challenges. To learn more, herewith VivaScoop July!
Supporting the City of Castlegar with their IT Strategy
Vivacity is excited to announce a project with our newest client: The City of Castlegar!
The City of Castlegar and Vivacity recently kicked off a new project looking at analyzing and updating their IT Master Plan, as well as helping the municipality go to market for a new IT Managed Service Provider. This will include the creation and management of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
We are thrilled to be working with the City of Castlegar, and we can’t wait to see where our work with them takes us over the next few months!
Vivacity Finalist for the Business Excellence Awards 2024 and Nominated for the Best of Kamloops 2024
Vivacity is honoured to say that we have been nominated for both the Business Excellence Awards 2024 put on by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce and the Best of Kamloops 2024 run by KamloopsNow!
For the Business Excellence Awards, Vivacity was nominated for the Emerging Business of the year, the Innovation Award, and the Community Service Award. While we were only able to run for Emerging Business of the Year as we have not been in business long enough to qualify for the other two, we are thrilled to be able to announce that we are a finalist in the category! The VivaTeam is honoured to have been nominated by the public and would like to thank the selection committee for moving us onto the next round. In addition, we would like to wish all the other finalists good luck!
For the Best of Kamloops 2024, Vivacity was nominated for Best Tech Startup, Best Technology Company, Best IT Company, and Best Software Developer. While we will not know yet if we received enough nominations to move forward to the voting stage, we are immensely grateful for everyone who has taken the time to recognize us for the work that we do.
We are so grateful for our community and our clients, and for everyone who took the time to nominate Vivacity. None of this happens without you and of course the amazing VivaTeam!
Going Gold for MISA BC 2024 (again!)
For the second year in a row, Vivacity is a gold sponsor of the MISA BC 2024 Fall Conference being hosted in the beautiful Resort Municipality of Whistler!
The VivaTeam will be heading to Whistler for the conference, starting September 9, 2024. There, we will have a booth and will be featuring a live demo of VivaCitadel for conference attendees to interact with and navigate through the Property Information Request process via our platform. There will be eager members of the team at our booth prepared to answer any questions and show off what VivaCitadel can do.
Vivacity will also be giving a presentation, with a few surprise panelists, to talk about the work we have done in the municipal service space with VivaCitadel. Attendees can expect to learn about the process of developing VivaCitadel from deciding the use case to iterative and collaborative development with the City of Kelowna and our design partners.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to sponsor this wonderful event again, and look forward to seeing so many industry colleagues and friends!
VivaCitadel Gets a New Look
Over the last month, the VivaTeam has been hard at work redefining and redesigning the look and feel of our VivaCitadel platform. The concepts we had originally designed the platform with, while lovely, just didn’t quite feel like it fit anymore.
That is why we have officially decided to rebrand VivaCitadel! Thanks to the hard work of our Brand and Marketing Designer, Kobe Shimoyama, and the feedback of the team, we have an entirely new VivaCitadel website complete with new content and visuals. But that’s not all…
Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks as we have a few more surprises coming!
