Welcome to Viva Scoop your monthly update on everything Vivacity Technologies.
I hope everyone had a great Labour Day weekend and managed to sign-off from work for a few days. In August, we continued the exciting trend for Vivacity with onboarding a new team member, as well as branching into some new CTO services as outlined below. In addition, we also highlight our first post by Stefano Stamato on our Certificate Authority product development.
To read more on what we’ve been up to, herewith is our update for August.
Jaime Sedore Joins the Vivacity Team
The Vivacity team is expanding and in August we added Jaime Sedore as our newest Software Developer. Jaime has a long history in the software development space, most recently working at organizations in Kamloops and Salmon Arm. Jaime joins the team to support Stefano in developing our Certificate Authority and Public Key Infrastructure solutions.
Jaime has already made a significant impact to our organization, not only on the product look and feel, but also operationally. We’re all really looking forward to working with Jaime and of course watching Jaime settle into the Viva team.
Becoming a Virtual CTO
Through our recent engagement with Simpcw Resources Group (SRG), where we undertook a full IT assessment of their organization, Vivacity
has now taken on the role of SRGs Chief Technology Office (CTO).
Under this 12 month engagement, Vivacity will be performing all the duties of a typical CTO, namely planning, managing and helping to deploy new technologies and IT Initiatives.
This is extremely exciting for Vivacity, as we are now in a prime position to help accelerate SRGs digital transformation. Some of the immediate tasks will include helping hire new SRG IT staff, improving the backup and disaster recovery environment, while also supporting operational improvements. Ultimately, Vivacity will look to replace ourselves as the CTO once the contract expires, but in the meantime we’re delighted to be part of SRGs digital journey.
Certificate Authority Update
by Stefano Stamato
The Viva team has been hard at work taking our Certificate Authority (CA) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution to the next level. First and foremost, we welcomed Jaime Sedore into the team as our awesome new Software Developer.
Jaime fits like a glove into our workflow, and has been making strides since day one helping us step up our software development practices. This is a key step in the process of enabling strong software development and internal security mechanisms.
In addition to bulking up the team, the Viva team has been uncovering a plethora of potential ways in which we can leverage PKI to solve customer challenges. From enabling organizations to move to more secure and passwordless strategies for network access controls, to digitally signing NFC and RFID enabled devices to prevent counterfeiting. PKI is a crucial piece in the cybersecurity puzzle of virtually any modern organization. We are excited to continue learning about customer challenges and tailoring solutions to their needs. More to come on this, so please watch this space!
Kelson City Gardens Digital Infrastructure
As announced previously, Vivacity is working closely with the team at the Kelson Group on their major downtown redevelopment project, the Kelson City Gardens. This 525 multi-tenant residential project will transform the Kamloops downtown core as the largest multi-tenant residential project in Kamloops’ history.
Vivacity is supporting this project by helping to future-proof the development project. This includes a potential micro data centre, enhanced networking infrastructure and the art of the possible for smart building technologies.
We’re nearing the end of this initial feasibility study and so far we’ve been delighted by the progress. This includes a survey to the current buyers, which highlighted the desire for energy saving technologies, smart building solutions and sustainability initiatives. Thanks again to the Kelson Group for engaging with us on this project!
Help!!
Please spread the word on what we do and who we are. It's simple, but massively beneficial for Vivacity.
Thank you so much for tuning in and don't hesitate to reach out to the Viva team with any questions.
